It turns out it is best to just stay quiet...
One never knows where today's hot button is and it all gets nasty.

What really drives me nuts is that if you don't go into hysterics, you're labelled as "just doesn't care", e.g., too fluffy-headed to care about "real" issues. Give me a break. For one thing, I read the news every morning before I ever get on the forum. I don't come to the AFF to read about politics...so from that perspective...Nah...I don't really care. Additionally, I feel that the only way to affect change is with my voting power, so discussing politics here doesn't really even appeal to me, most of the time.
...obviously I did care enough to actually read the first post, and then the condescending posts following made me want to trash the whole thread. Not all threads are going to spur discussion. Some just get the wheels to turnin'.

Hmmm...speaking of hysterics lol...did you notice nobody said you had to be hysterical to not be labelled as "just doens't care"?
