Ok, well that doesn't seem to bad. I'm sure his insurance will
cover as much as well.

Lacey I was at my wits end with all this junk and we kept asking God to lead us to what was going on with my heart and why I was always so tired and why I was always so tired even after sleeping 8 hours a night.
God is so faithful! He started moving things into place and opening doors on the base for me to get to see the Cardiologist.
I am an new man! My next step is getting rid of this weight!
I will keep your son in my prayers I know his pain!

Re: Sleep Apnea
Yes I have sleep apena
Yes I use my Respironics System One every single night. Including business trips and our 3 week trans atlantic cruise and European vacation last summer!
I recently found out I am supposed to get a new mask every 6 months but have not done so. I am still using all of the original tubing, headgear, etc from almost two years ago. I did have to replace one plastic swivel part.
I have severe sleep apnea. My test showed I stopped breathing 70 times per hour, that is more than once a minute! They did not even wait for my CPAP machine to come in. They gave me a loaner the day after my test. I am at high risk for heart disease, heart attack, stroke, etc if I don't use a CPAP machine. Mine is a state of the art one that is very quiet and ramps up and down as it sense if you are not breathing.

Wow, 70 times per hour is pretty severe! Glad you have the machine
and it helps!
You said you have one of the state of the art kind? May I ask how
much it cost after insurance?

I don't remember. I do know that I had done some research (this is almost two years ago now) and I think my machine retailed for around $900 but you could find it online for around $700. I think my insurance paid for all except a couple of hundred dollars.
It is very hard to get used to sleeping with one and even today after almost two years it is still a pain the butt. Don't let him give up though if he doesn't like it. Once he gets used to it he will sleep much better and feel more rested. You just learn not to be a tosser and turner with your vacuum cleaner hose on!

Re: Sleep Apnea
Do you have to go for a sleep test?

Re: Sleep Apnea
Does it have to be calibrated to suit your breathing needs?
