We always get the flu shot because Walt's aorta is dissected the whole length of it. His health is so fragile that for him to get even a mild case of the flu could be disastrous. So we do whatever we can to avoid it at our house. Not always successfully. But we try!
On the other hand, I feel that for the government to require a shot should never be acceptable. The government has their hands in too much already. Now they want to tell you if you should or should not get a flu shot? Please! what will be next???

"If an individual has had 5 consecutive flu shots between 1970 - 1980 (the years of the study) his/her chance of developing Alzheimer's Disease is 10 times greater than if they had 1, two or no shots."
Dr. Fudenberg's comments above were from his speech at the NVIC International Vaccine Conference, Arlington VA September, 1997.

No flu shot, no flu...this year or last year.
There were times I got the flu shot and got the flu anyway.
So...I'll take my chances without the shot and use homeopathic remedies to lessen the severity of the flu if I get it.

Algae, I did get the flu shot and did not get the flu. However I did get some kind of upper respitory crud for about 2 1/2 weeks of December that knocked me on my butt. Then in the middle of that the entire house got a virus we passed on to teach other. I got lucky though and although it hit me and I was very sick I was not near as sick as everybody else who got it.
The past two or three years I have taken the flu shot and have not gotten the flu. I do typically though get one bad cold per winter and one bad one in the summer.

I got the flu. Then I got the flu shot because it was required where I work. And then I got the flu again but not as bad except for the bronchitis.
