I've seen worst results after high school fights. What about bar fights, dance floor fights, sporting stadium brawls-- are we all justified to shoot and kill the person we get into a fist fight with?

Do y'all remember the first reports were that the police had ruled it self defense within a few hours? And the article claimed that Zimmerman's story matched the evidence. Then the 911 call was reported and things changed. Then Sharpton and Jackson showed up, and things changed. The evidence didn't change, though.

I can see a fight and a struggle for the gun and it goes off, we don't know who's finger was on the trigger. Chances are it could have been Martin's as well as Zimmerman's. If guilty Zimmerman may be guilty of manslaughter. Because if he hadn't had the weapon, Martin might still be alive. IMO

Think about the case in Wisconsin when two teens broke into an older gentleman's home and he shot them both.

1 teen died very quickly, but another teen didn't die right away. He then went over to the clearly bleeding and disabled teen, put a gun under her chin and, "put a bullet in her cranium."

Would you all say that he is justified in killing her too? It looks like Wisconsin law calls that man a murderer. But this is a different case in a different state.


The SYG law in Florida is a bad law! I've said it before and I'll say it again! It gives people the false sense of "security" in being able to take the life of another, without punity.

When is killing justified? Is killing justified in every altercation?

if you feel your life is in danger, yes defend yourself, kill em if necessary !

Are we forgetting that Zimmerman ran after Martin when police told him not to???

A 17 year old boy running away doesn't sound like intent to murder.

The whole attack could have been avoided if Zimmerman had followed officers order in the first place.

It was actually a dispatcher, not a police officer.

Yes but if that person is not and your nose is broken you might not be able to aim...so my point was why wait till your nose is broken?
