God honors sacrifice as long as obedience is not sacrificed for the sake of sacrifice, right?
Jermyn, Where can I sign up? don't think I could go all night, but would do my best.

One time I had such a burden, and I wasn't sure why, but I did pray all night.
I felt that I was praying to divert a disaster.

Later, our dictator Pastor, was found to not be what ne pretended. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

We should pay attention to those burdens. Today, people don't know much about a burden from God, and usually family members will think they are just depressed. and try to get them to go to the Dr. or take depressants. But there is a difference.

This I have noticed. I have been depressed before, and when I was I could hardly pray, and I didn’t want to read my Bible.

If it is a burden, I walk the floor, praying. Mostly praying in unknown tongues, if I’m not sure what I am praying about. Sometimes the burden is so deep, that I feel like I can’t stand it any longer. And unlike depression, you can stop it, by going somewhere. Sometimes being with people. Or just getting your mind on other things.

I know one of my burdens, is the Church. Just as false Pagan teachers joined the Church and brought in false doctrine, after the Apostles were gone. I believe it is happening again.

No. Where do you get the idea that God honors whatever it is that you consider a sacrifice?

Re: All Night Prayer Meetings

I've been to all night prayer meetings. This post is thinking about me holding one here at the local church or getting together with some saints and having one. I haven't been to one since I've been off the east coast. I love prayer, love crying out to God.

Is the principle behind fasting not sacrifice? Did not God ordain the principle of sacrifice under the OT in the first place? I do believe God honors our sacrifice as long as it coincides with Scripture.

Doc,

In the O.T. they sacrificed animals. In the N.T. Christ was sacrificed. I'm just not big on all this Istoppeddrinkingcoketoplease God nonsense. I have a?
How does an all night prayer meeting coincide with scripture? And

Why sacrifice anything? Is God supposed to love you more? I'm just not getting it.

I don't feel that is about gaining God's approval or grace. I believe it is about crucifying flesh..pushing it out of the way to receive more from God. I feel that the purpose of an all night prayer meeting 1. To spend much time in prayer seeking God. 2. Crucifying flesh while renewing inner man. 3. To show desparation and desire. Not that God does not already know just how much we want him or don't want him...but sometimes our feelings follow our actions. I know that when I fast i start to want God more. It stirs something inside of me...a will to press deeper into the things of God. The same with an all night prayer meeting. When i make it a point to set aside the time i would normally sleep...and spend it seeking God..my spirit is stirred toward God. It's not about gaining his favor but about getting desperate for more of Him.

Re: All Night Prayer Meetings

What God has really been dealing with me on is Revelation 4:1.

1. A door open.
2. A call to come up hither
3. A promise of Revelation.

I've felt that Call and I feel that it is my duty to respond to it by doing something i've not done before to press into the Spirit. To push deeper into the things of God.
