what does the scripture say, because it either is or it isnt from God.
1 corinthians 14 is pretty clear the word of prophecy doesnt originate from you it comes from God, so if the prophecy is found to have merit, then it is a thus saith the Lord.
also who said scripture had to stop? we are still writing the bible down daily with our own lives, Most of the new testament is what people witness, its no different than what we witness today as those people did in the book of acts.
