I'd certainly be interested in scripture showing where a pastor is paid a salary, or in a position as in most 'churches' today. Also, no New Testament pastor received tithes.
I could be mistaken as I am not a Pastor, nor do I plan on being one lol.

My Pastor never took a penny for years and years until he retired from the secular world. He started our Church 35 years ago.

From what I understand the Pastor should receive all tithes.
Where is a Church board in the Bible?

Re: should a pastor have a set salary?

When Paul had all the Elders/Pastors together in one spot that would have been a good time for him to remind them to take tithes from the people. Lets look and see what he told them instead.

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up , and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified . 33 I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel. 34 Yea, ye yourselves know , that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. 35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak , and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said , It is more blessed to give than to receive . Acts 20:32-35

How shocking and eye opening! An Apostle standing in front of a group of Pastors telling them to work with their own hands so they could have to give to others.

Todays "Professional" Pastors would have had conferences about the importance of saints giving tithes to them even to the point of shipping them off into Hell if they dont!

The root of the problem seems to be we dont undertand there is no scriptural difference between Pastor, Elder, Bishop, Shepherd, and Overseer.

They are all the same thing.

How far, far, and far again we are from the New Testament Apostolic Church.
