I agree.

We received free energy saving bulbs from our gas and electric company. They are weak and barely give enough light. Some years ago we had to go to toilets that use less water each flush but have to be flushed more than once to work.

JD & DM - do you mind listing exactly what you disagree with from DB's rant?
Or are you just opposing it because DB is on the opposite side as you?

Re: Leave Us Alone!

The Nanny State is becoming more and more intrusive. Here in Memphis a Democrat led county commission is trying to pass an ordinance that will make it a ticket able offense if you don't have adequate enough water and/or food provided for your pet. So how will they enforce this? Come to your home and check your parakeet's cage, your dog's bowl and your boa constrictor's lair?

Leave us alone, Big Government!

Those who are for government's "assistance" (prob a bit too broad, but the overall idea is what I'm targeting) and support its invasive policies apparently never stopped breastfeeding from their mommas...

In this case, they've traded mommas...

Let's see we got rid of the 3 gallon toilets for water saving 1.5 gallon toilets. Right. Now you have to flush these new toilets X3, that equals 4.5 gallons. Yep, government imposed water saving!!!

Thankfully, the industry has created more powerful new toilets that do the job, with the 1.5 gallon flush, so maybe it ultimately has forced change in the industry. American industry needs to step up to the plate and beat the socks off of China industry, stop the defeatism and go to work on the realities of the marketplace and be American, kick butt!!! Jobs will be created with this attitude. What China can do with forced labor, we can do better, much better, if we just have the will. There are more possibilities in the creation for more efficient automobiles, better ways of doing any and everything that we and the world needs. Why don't we become the greatest export of goods and services in the world, maybe we wouldn't have to export so much war. Exactly what will cause the world to beat their swords into tools of trade? Shouldn't the "Christian" American lead in that, we do, but we also lead in the war industry as well, sweet and bitter water should not flow from the same fountain.

In a perfect world, government would inspire industry to change without more and more laws that give government more and more power over our lives. That is the danger, is tyrannical government that is ultimately very ineffective in it regulations. Such as the former Soviet Union and other type governments. If it doesn't flow from the hearts of the people it will never be sustainable. China will always have to enforce tyranny to stay where they are, because the people will continue to rebel at every opportunity, and freedom will eventually win out, then they will have to "learn" freedom.

We need leadership that is not hostile to the governed, that can create and environment for cooperation instead of hate and division.

I agree with the premise here. Unfortunately we have one of the most hostile, anti business administrations in history.

We have the highest corporate taxes in the world. We propose to tax job creators, including small business owners who create 70% of our jobs. We continue to allow trade defecits that harm our country. Our policies encourage businesses to leave the country. Our policies discourage entrepreneurs. We have a man in our church who has a successful steel building business, but he is so frustrated with OSHA and the regulations he's trying to convert into a farmer, raising cattle and getting our of the construction business altogether. He builds a lot for federal and local government funded projects and has to wait for 45 days to 90 days to get paid. And they go over budget and they have all of this red tape to work through. And then he gets nailed at tax time. The whole system is prohibitive rather than encouraging.

Liberals see business as the enemy when in actuality if weren't for business owners and corporations we would be a third rate country.
