I know you probably don't watch even these, but my question is, do you believe it is a sin to watch a wedding or a church service on a monitor?

Sin is too strong a word NO I would not do it. I think it opens the door to more. My opinion. Not unlawful but not expedient.
My niece we raised as a daughter just got married last year we did not video her wedding though some of our family wanted to. I said no.

If a preacher preached something for years and over time they gradually begin to see that it is not necessarily wrong, like TV for example. For years they are considered 'holiness' ultra-con maybe, and they decide they dont believe things are wrong anymore. They still preach against TV, but they show dvds to their young people.
To me, it is a little inconsistent. What do you think?

Welcome, Naomi!
My father-in-law used to tell a story about his feelings about TV.
When TV first came out, he bought one. The UPC church that he attended marked him as a rebel and headed for hell. He told the pastor that God would help him decide what was proper and what was not proper to watch. Remember that this was when "I Love Lucy" was in the early stages!
As time went on, there was less and less I'll feelings toward him, because he was indeed a great christian man with high ethics. He lived the standards, and supported the church with his tithes and offerings. He was baptised in Jesus name, and recieved the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Before he passed away, his position on TV was fully accepted by the pastor and church.
He went from being a rebel and troublemaker to a highly toughted saint in the church and NEVER CHANGED HIS POSITION! The pastor and church folks changed their position.
So who was right? Did God change his mind, or did the church change it's position?

You didn't allow your own family to record a wedding?!? Are you a scrooge or something? Did you make the wedding photographer take all the wedding photos in black & white as well???

I Love Lucy was Bad. Lucy was a smoker. ( seriously ) They never showed her holding a cigarette
But you could always see the smoke drifting up from the ash tray. If you watch her, you would probably think it was cool to smoke, and dye your hair red, and wear fake eyelashes, and paint your eyebrows, and wear bright red lipstick. And you might even start acting crazy like she did. It’s better not to watch Lucy,

Hahahaha! The early sitcoms were of perfect little families. Even though most all of the women on TV back then wore dresses and piled their hair on their head, they DID wear make-up and jewelry!
Of course there's Lucy! That ho went and bobbed her hair!

I Love Lucy did more to modernize the kitchen than any show before or since. They always had the latest in modern kitchen gadgetry. Even though they lived in that apartment they had money to burn.

I never thought much of I Love Lucy.Sorry I was more the Happy Days fan.
If I remember right Lucille Ball was linked to some communist stuff.
BTW she did come out in only her slip more than once.
