Is that it?
Widespread voter fraud does not exist, therefore the rules in place are already preventing widespread voter fraud. No redundant new rules are needed.

As for reappearing, most of the stuff is the same old same old on here. I am not going to change anyone's mind, they are probably not going to change mine, so there is not much reason to post and go over the same old arguments. Only the really, really obviously wrong threads catch my eye anymore.

Welcome back Twisp. Good to see you posting. This place gets too monochromatic. We need more opposing views. Makes for more robust debate.

My only question is, whether you think there is widespread voter fraud or not, why would one be opposed to requiring a legitimate photo ID at the time of voting? It is required for so many less important actions than voting, so why not? If we can prevent fraud whether it significantly exists or not, why not?

Um...we have had a literal PLETHORA or cartoon characters voting in Ohio, exclusively for Democrats mind you, for the past two general elections. Apparently the Loony Tunes realy liked Kerry and Obama.

Saying there isn't widespead voter fraud is nonsense.

Voting should be made as easy to do as possible. Voter ID laws suppress voting from many types of minorities. It is unconscionable to make it more difficult for anyone to legally vote in this country, especially when the laws in place are already working excellently.

Why don't you go ahead and show the data for that, so we can all know what you know.

How does requiring an ID make it more difficult? The left keeps sayign that, but they never state HOW. The minorities need an ID to get an apartment or home, to drive, to cash a check, to buy alcohol or cigarrettes...basically to do ANYTHING LEGALLY.

So why not just be honest about it? It makes it harder for illegals, felons and frauds to vote. None of which have a constitutional RIGHT to vote in the first place. The Demos don't want to stop those voting blocks b/c they know they vote exclusively for the Democrat party.

Multiple studies have shown that it will adversely effect the elderly, the handicapped, students and other minorities. If there is not a problem with the current system, then the new rules only purpose is to further suppression of certain blocks of voting.

This is not an issue about illegal citizens voting, because there is no evidence that happens on a widespread scale.

Re: Now ya know why we got Obama

The elderly, handicapped, students and minorities should already HAVE ID if they do any of the things stated above. Do elderly folks no longer cash checks, drive, get apartments or such? Do handicapped people not have to provide ID when they GET THEIR HANDICAP stickers? Students have to have ID to enroll in school.

It is a nonsense argument to say it make sit harder to vote. "Multiple studies" my behind. Studies done by who? ACORN or some other lefty, liberal group right?

If you cannot be troubled to spend the $15 minimum to get at least a state ID, then you shouldn't be allowed to vote! If your vote isn't worth that much to you, then you are exactly the type of person that shouldn't be casting a vote in the first place.

Voting is a right. Who are you to start deciding who should vote or who shouldn't? If the laws in place are already working, then there is no need for new laws making it harder for legal citizens to vote.
