Re: Ron Paul Not Racist...

I think in politics its more about idealogy of groups that counts. I don't think most GOPers have prob with blacks that have same political positions. Most are welcoming of of minorities that believe the same. Its just that it been pounded in many that GOP is racism so there is little they(GOP) can do to dispell the racial charge against them. If they do try its gonna be shot down and minorities in it will be considered sell outs or uncle toms.

Did he? I wasn't aware he did

Ron Paul let black people work for him-- of course he's not racist!

Ron Paul is a good Christian brother, just like Rick Perry is too! What? You didn't hear about the Ron Paul Christian Concert, "Redneck's Call to Prayer?" Everyone knows that really EVERYONE was invited, but he packaged his invitations and concert in a way that was accomodating to those people, after all, they really do love Jesus and they have the ability to vote too!

He was just trying to reach out to those people, similar to evangelical dating!

The GOP does not have any racial issues-- not within the recent past and DEFINITELY not today! Just look at our candidates, the people we as a party put out front to represent us!

They sure do make it easy to understand and explain to others why I'm a registered Republican today!

Oh my... after such a long rant of sarcastic insinuation I'm now convinced of my evil.

There can be no election cycle without racism beign thrown in there... Everyone is a racist...

Good grief

Right... and the times it is played with no merit dilutes the impact of the times it does.

No, not everyone.

I just get irritated with my fellow GOP'ers acting as if there isn't a race problem within the GOP.

To say that the Democrats have race problems too doesn't address what is on display by the GOP-- the subject of this thread.

Re: Ron Paul Not Racist...

I wasn't supposed to be offended by Perry.

I'm supposed to see that Ron Paul is simply being maligned by the leftist media.

The past 2 Presidents of the U of Texas college REPUBLICANS are misunderstood too.

No one in the GOP ever calls out their counterparts when it comes to anything that smacks of racial bigotry, so it looks like there is a tacit approval of it-- similar to the tacit approval of the American Muslims that never criticize the mindless terrorism that happens at the hands of other Muslims.

That's all I'm trying to say.

When the lunacy happens, it would be GREAT to see and hear the SOMEBODY within the GOP correct it, instead of letting it slide.

Ignoring cockroaches doesn't make them go away. The GOP needs an exterminator.

Lay out some of the things you are talking about. So far all we've seen is vague sarcastic insinuation.

Re: Ron Paul Not Racist...

Would anyone consider the following statement racist...

"I will say then, that I am not nor never have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races; that I am not nor never have been in favor of making voters of the free negroes, or jurors, or qualifying them to hold office, or having them to marry with white people. I will say, in addition, that there is a physical difference between the white and black races, which, I suppose, will forever forbid the two races living together upon terms of social and political equality, and inasmuch as they cannot so live, that while they do remain together, there must be the position of superior and inferior, that I as much as any other man am in favor of the superior position being assigned to the white man."
