Of course, it will always line up with what the Word says that we do hear. Meaning study, then listen to what He does says, then doing more studying again. I mean why else would God have given us the bible if not for the purpose of having a check to make sure we were not hearing from that other guy that Adam and Eve believed as well.
Right?

Why do you suppose the HS teaches different people different things? (Each of which could be found to "line up". The Bible is infinitely flexible!)

BTW, a friend said on Facebook it was "so that things will stay interesting and give bored Christians something to do."
Or it could be Timmy, that your facebook friend is just spending to much time playing around on face book. You do know this is what kids love to do most don't you?

Well, it's kinda tricky. (I was teasing, when I said it was simple. ) How can you tell if the Spirit has taught you something, as opposed to just a feeling that your are right in your interpretation? I suspect that many Trinnies think the HS has taught them the truth about the Trinity, and many OPs will say the Spirit taught them the truth. At the root of it, I think we tend to accept whatever makes sense to us, and some of us think we have gotten that understanding from God, whether He really had anything to do with it or not.
It's very much like the Mormons, who "know" they are right because of the burning in the bosom.

Good question Sam. Christ always teaches us the same thing doesn't he? At least over time anyway. As the answers to some things we have to wait on. But IMO many have been taught to believe what their pastors and teachers are telling them what the Word says mostly. Whereas I believe once we are born again having entered into the kingdom of God, as it speaks of in John chapter 3, God desires for us to come to Him thereafter asking him for the truth. Seems to me that is what it is saying finally about what the problem was in the church at Laodicea was not doing at all, written about in the latter part of chapter 3, except for the church of phildephia, which seemed to have before them this open door that no man can shut. Could it be because this was the only group that did open the door inviting him in to sup with them, after all?
could that be the answer for the reason for so many not being in agreement with one another?
It isn't that anyone is unteachable. The real problem is, we do not question what is being taught to us by man, by seeking the Lord as it says we are to do instead in Proverbs chapter 2.
Just a thought that came to me after you did ask, about looking at what seems to happen once one does lose their first love. Which of course, isn't our own love at all, but HIS.

If there is a way to rightly divide the word of God then there is also a wrong way to rightly divide the word of God.
If the Word of God can be divided rightly, then it can also be divided wrongly. I think that is what you meant. It is impossible to wrongly divide something right.
