What ever it is it comes straight from his mouth because he never opens a bible when he preaches, if you want to call it that. And that quote comes straight from his mouth as he stated on public television.
If his father could see he would probably turn over in his grave.

Was this a serious question? If so the answer is that Joel has publicly stated that he believes that homosexuality is a sin. There are multiple articles all over the internet and elsewhere that you can view his comments, here is one:
"Jay Bakker, a big supporter of a pro-gay group, met privately with Joel Osteen of Lakewood Church to talk about faith and sexuality issues and to ultimately gain the support of the megapastor.
Related
Son of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, Jay and a group of gays and lesbians attended one of Lakewood Church's Sunday worship services in an effort to change the influential pastor's view on gays and lesbians. At the end, Osteen did not affirm homosexuality.
It was the first of six megachurch stops in a pro-gay campaign called The American Family Outing – a collaboration between Soulforce, COLAGE, National Black Justice Coalition, and the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches. Some 30 LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) persons and supporters took their national campaign to the country's largest church on Mother's Day to create dialogue around LGBT issues with members of the megachurch.
"Families come in all forms," said Kim Beggs, a lesbian mother and also an Osteen fan, according to the Houston Chronicle. "God loves us."
The group of 30 met with Osteen after service as the megapastor was greeting hundreds of visitors. The Osteens – including the pastor's mother, Dodie, and wife, Victoria – welcomed Bakker and the guests from Soulforce, according to Lakewood spokesman Donald Iloff, who added that the church does not turn visitors away.
Joel Osteen, his brother, Paul, and Iloff then met privately with Bakker and there they discussed faith, family and LGBT people."

Re: Prison Awaits Faithful Christians
It was a halfhearted question. Thank you for answering it. As you see, Michael the Disciple started this tread about prison awaiting believers. The congress is slowing passing laws that can be selectively enforced and many pastors can go to prison by violating these laws.
Someone brought up Joel Osteen. So since I heard Joel Osteen rarely preaches a sermon from the Bible, I wondered what Joel Osteen’s position on homosexuality was?
You see, I never watch television preachers. Mega-churches don’t impress me at all. I suppose I should, every once in a while, look these jokers up on the net to see who they are and what they believe, but there are so many other interesting things to look up that they fall by the wayside.
Michael the Disciple is just trying to warn his fellow believers that the world is once again going to persecute true believers. Jeremiah probably was called a fear monger too in his day.
P.S. I just read wikipedia where Osteen had preached only ONE sermon before he took over the megachurch. Wow.
Does anybody ever wonder why politicians are in Congress for generations? Why Hollywood stars are generational likewise? Now it looks as though churches are passed down to family members. Is this truly God’s intention? Or is it people’s itching ears?

You know you guys need to get the log out of your eye and deal with your own drama and secret sins instead of worrying about someone you think has a toothpick in their eye.
Let's put YOUR life under a microscope and examine every single thing you do from daylight to midnight and see if you don't have a few quirks!
People like you that continually judge others and gossip about others you don't even know - most usually have dark secret sins that they are covering with talking about how BAD everyone else is.
Too bad nobody measures up to your perfection!

Re: Prison Awaits Faithful Christians
I usually agree with AB on many things...but not this one.
I am a person of many faults and I try to work on those faults. However, is it ok for any Child of God, born again Holy Ghost filled Jesus Name believer to stand by silently and watch while any preacher, of any organized church system, megachurch etc to not preach to thousands of people the truth of the Bible, then financially gain from them on top of it?
The Bible tells us to be "watchmen on the wall", but the preachers tell us to shut up and pull the log out of our own eye.
The Bible tells us not to be fooled by false prophets and teachers. The Bible tells us not to sleep.
Perhaps some of these preachers are the ones who put those logs in there to begin with so we would not see what they are doing to people who want a bonafide move from God?
I turn on the television throughout the years and seen men and women decked out in the finest asking for money, money, and money.
I would have to say that the absolute most spiritual preachers I've come across are the ones who don't preach for filthy lucre. Don't sit in a church waiting on folks to fill up their pews. These are the ones who street preach where they can and go to visit the sick, the elderly and sometimes just the family and pray in their home with them. Not too many of those are left.

Re: Prison Awaits Faithful Christians
Well, Let's start a thread about lawyers that we don't like how they advertise and how cheap they sound or used car salesmen who scream at us on TV or the nasty talking Hollywood stars who curse and influence this generation every day. You don't know any of them personally but - who cars - slam them and gossip about them. But NO - You won't deal with them - you want to throw your rocks at preachers that are working, praying, helping people, teaching, preaching, feeding, giving to the poor and feeding the hungry.
You have absolutely no idea who Joel Osteen is or what he does and who he helps. I guess he should have just said - let the church fold after Daddy John died and he could have gone to work for TBN or even CNN.
WHY do you guys have to do this. I hear it in every "Apostolic" Church I go to. WE ARE THE BEST - The TV Preachers are all going to hell and we hate Joel Osteen and even though TD Jakes baptises in the Name of Jesus, He is not of us so he is not good enough and he screams and carries on and lets put him and his bunch in hell too.
WE ARE THE BEST - THE HOLIEST - THE CHOSEN ONES!
Why don't you just preach what you believe and leave the others alone.
Joel Osteen and Bishop Jakes are easy targets for those in the cheap seats and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Altho you apparently mean this as a bitter attack on someone I am glad to put my life under a microscope. Thats the point of holiness. You mean there are people out there serving Jesus who dont understand this? If there is sin in the heart/mind Heaven will not be our eternal home.
Jesus said to his true Church they tested those who claimed to be apostles but were liars and praised them for their accurate assesment/judgment. If one claims to be a minister in the Church and does not preach perfection he is either:
1. A tare sent by satan to confuse the saints.
2. A novice in the word, maybe sincere but not taught in the word of truth therefore not prepared for New Testament ministry.
