Re: Heart of Occupy Wall St Protest
Here is what the OWS is all about. As seen through the eyes of their "Jesus", Saul Alinsky.
"Because we'll show the middle class their real enemies: the corporate power elite that runs and ruins the country -- the true beneficiaries of Nixon's so-called economic reforms. And when they swing their sights on that target, the **** will really hit the fan."
The goal is to foment enough public discontent, moral confusion, and outright chaos to spark the social upheaval that Marx, Engels, and Lenin predicted

Have you watched the news? These people are getting exactly what they ask for.

You have heard the GOP criticizing OWS, but they have also left it up to the local politicians to deal with it.
There you have the main difference between the two parties.
One threatens and one speaks freely.
I know whose side I am on.
Do you?

poor jd is always confused about what side he is on

The right to free speech and the right to assemble have limitations. The old classic example is that the right to free speech does not give one the right to yell "FIRE" in a crowded theater. Lots of filthy language and anti-Semitic rhetoric going on there. The rights of the protestors interferes with the rights of people to go to work, to shop, etc. Also, whenever I've seen protestors interviewed they didn't seem to have any idea of a solution --just the old Obama socialist redistribution of wealth. It seems that what the protestors are really into is public fornication, defecation, urination, drug ingestion, etc.

That is absolutely ludicrous. I have not and will not support these protesters. In fact, they are turning out to be professional beggars on the streets and parks of our major cities. They have trademarked the name "Occupy Wall Street", set up official offices, have decided that some of them are more equal than others, turn people away from their food, and many other 'greedy capitalistic pig' style things. In addition, the pollute parks, leave their trash everywhere, are forced to be evicted from those places so that they can be cleaned up, and live on handouts like children or beggars. Those that are educated have a pathetic piece of worthless paper like the woman in Sam's post.
Only one question remains. How long are we going to tolerate sending our brilliant high schoolers to college to become so incredibly stupid?

Re: Heart of Occupy Wall St Protest
OK. Here's how to solve the economic woes of this country.
Everyone should be equal. No person should have more than any other.
So, all paychecks, gifts, compensation, tips, bribes, etc. should not go to individuals but should go to a central clearing house or redistribution center in Washington DC. There it will be divided equally for all people in the US (legal and illegal) and sent to them by way of direct deposit in a bank account from which they can withdraw by use of a debit card.
No individual or family should own more than one house, one vehicle, or one change of clothes.
Food (must be healthy according to government standards) is to be allotted equally to all. Food portions would be based on age and weight of each individual. Nobody should have more food per day than any other person.
Aren't we all supposed to be equal in this country? Why do we allow such disparity in wealth and material goods?

According to this, might as well attempt to line people up alphabetically according to height. You can not allot to everyone equally, and devide portions according to age/weight. That newborn must eat the same 3 1/2 pounds of solid food just like the rest of us, that or we can only drink milk all of our lives. You may not descriminate against us like that. Revolt! Revolt! The S.S. of S. is discriminating against your babies!!!
