When Israel Needs U.S., Obama Disses Netanyahu

I'm amazed at the Biblical illiteracy when it comes to what God promised Abe and the nation of Israel. If God was finished with them, why all of the prophecies concerning their future related to modern times?

I have to believe that those who think that modern Israel and the Jewish people are to be marginalized Biblically haven't studied the subject out thoroughly. The Biblical evidence is overwhelming that God is still bound to the natural children of Abe.

Politically it is a foolish move by BO. American Jews tend to vote Democrat as a voting bloc and are left leaning. The only difference between them and classic liberals is that the majority of them left or right are devoted to the nation of Israel. He should lose support and financial contributions for this latest faux pas.

Sarkozy wasn't talking about all Jews, he was talking about Sarkozy.
I don't believe the Bible promises punishment for calling a spade a spade-- whether Jew or not.

Besides, where was the outrage when our own President was called a liar?


I guess there are no Bible promises of retribution for lying on our President and publicly shaming an American President.

we don't study our bibles,nor does it mean we hate the people in Israel.

Nor can we say that our brethren who hold a differing view are ignorant of Biblical things.

JD - the nations in Europe who were complicit with the Germans in WW2 have traditionally been very careful in criticizing Israel. That is starting to turn. Anti-semitism in again on the march and in my opinion starting to point us to the end of the age.

JD, our president has routinely undermined the US/Israel relationship since taking the Oval Office. It's a pattern that has been obvious to most causing even Jewish supporters of his likue Ed Koch to vocally object t his approach to Israel. He didn't call BN a liar but it is obvious to most that his reponse was one of agreement. He certainly wasn't defending BN with hiswords. When you add up the other ways BO has disrespected the Israeli PM with words, approaches and subtle actions, the sum total falls short of "blessing" Israel.

As far as Obama being called a liar earlier, I'll let his record stand for itself. Has he told any lies? My issue with what BO did has nothing to do with Sarkozy calling BN a liar, it's the "I have to deal with him every day." Iran is working feverishly to obtain nuukes, they openly and publicly declare their goal of destroying Israel and the last signal the Middle East needs, especially the enemies of Israel is that there is disunity between the US Prez and the Israeli PM. Should this embolden Iran and the terrorists they sponsor to cause more trouble for Israel, I believe God would hold BO accountable.

We are instructed pray for our leaders, I do. There is Bible for respecting authorities, which I do. Any one of us criticizing the Prez for words, policies and actions we feel are wrong for our country, are violating Biblical principles or otherwise is legitimate as long as we do so with the right spirit. For the sitting president to harm the goodwill between the US/Israel is something entirely different. The fact that Netanyahu is a Jew does make a difference. The Jews have been granted promises that no other nation/race/people have. You bless the Jews, you will be blessed. You curse them, you will be cursed. That's undeniable. Biblically and historically.

I never stated you don't study your Bible, or hate Israel. I don't believe you are ignorant of Biblical things. I am not a Dispensationalist either. I do believe there is plenty of Biblical evidence that points to the end of the age and the role Israel plays in the events before, during and after.

The Church is the Bride of Christ. We are the children of Abe. We receive the Abrahamic covenant. But there are many prophecies pointing to the Messiah and Israel and that she would be restored and rebuilt and reestablished. The past 100 years have witnessed fulfillment of many dormant ancient prophecies. The blessing of God is still upon Israel. Nazi Germany was destroyed because of the Holocaust. The Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact nations collapsed because of their history of pogroms and genocide. Israel's enemies have suffered humiliating defeat after humiliating defeat since 1948. What was once an arid, difficult, and challenging land has now blossomed into a productive, lush, breadbasket in that region prospering while it's neighbors struggle for survival. Israel is the shining beacon in the Middle East. Religious freedom abounds. Democracy thrives. Women enjoy opportunity and education. The standard of living is high. The evidence is overwhelming that God's promise to Abraham about his biological children still stands.
