Love what I heard Paul Wahser say, after preaching a sermon, someone in a particular church (appearently looking for a Pastor)was told, "you must become our Pastor, you are such a man of God."
To which He responded "how do you know I'm a man of God? Do you know how I treat my wife at home? Anybody can preach a good message." (reference
1 Timothy 3)
Wow. That's lost on today's generation. Rather than asking first how does a man live, we tend to ask how good can he preach. Result, lots of preachers who in some way apeal to masses, but little content, as few are willing to challenge people to live a life of consistent prayer, Scripture study, and ministry to "the least of these" when they are often too busy themselves for such things.
