Don't worry about vote against raising the debt ceiling. Hillary, Durbin and the libs all voted against raising it in 2006.

It has been quite a while since I have been here, and I know this was posted for Sonny and Light, but has anyone mentioned the 14th Amendment. I read an article where Pres. Clinton said that he would use the 14th Amendment if he was in the White House. I am sure that he has already expressed his opinion to President Obama. There is no reason to worry about the Social Security checks going out.
How many times was the debt ceiling raised when Bush was in office? Does anybody know? I don't remember all this hoop la during the Bush years.

You don't want honesty and truth. How many times did your favorite dems rail against raising the debt ceilig? Even Obama said no. Don't raise it.

Why are we giving billions of dollars to foreign countries but not giving our seniors their social security checks that they PAID FOR YEARS into? Obama is forcing things by holding this over people's heads!

Social security is by law an independent trust fund. "Raising the debt limit" means using those trust fund dollars to buy debt. In other words loan money to the general fund.

My point is that no matter how they finagle things, the people who TRUSTED the government to hold their money and give it back to them when they retire are getting shortchanged if they don't get their checks. We are such sheeple.
