deacon, those photos was leaked out by someone that worked in that prison to the internet. The President could not stop the media. But it was illegal, what was being done to those people.

It is ok that you never seem to support your assertion.

Democrats are limited to emotional arguments.
Obama was a hypocrit since he said he was shutting the prison down and now that is totally not true.

I'm sorry Seascapes, but your a liberal hypocrite who spews radical left wing dogma without any concern for having an intellectual conversation that can be supported by actual facts or even fair opinions.

That evaluation maybe a bannable offense but you know, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.......

Here is the real issue.

When the pics from Abu Gharib were released, it is clearly documented that the unrest created was extremely detrimental to our troops and our mission.

Remember GWB's, "Mission Accomplished"?

He did not do that haphazzardly. We had made great progress in Iraq at that point. However, when Abu Gharib was made public, it motivated scores and scores of Arabs from around the region to flood into Iraq and drag out that war.

It really us best for the American Govt to not release the pics of the dead guy, no matter how badly I want to see him.

The pics of the WTC, Danny Pearl, the coffins of our heroes-- these are pictures that were taken by private citizens and private organizations.

Yes, the govt released pics of the WTC, but it was already being broadcasted live on television.

The release of pics from the WTC attacks did not trigger the deaths of U.S. militarymen and women.

The pics from Abu Gharib did.

The big picture is very, very clear.

Who wants the Taliban emboldened, dragging out that already costly, but necessary war?

Who wants to see Iraq return to the condition it was in before 2007?

If the American Govt released those pics, this is EXACLTY what would happen.

We need to see the big picture, not bin laden's corpse.

Leftist media idiots and their false claims. When the leftist idiot media makes false claims that pictures incite riots, they lie. I didn't riot. I didn't riot when the Burnhams were kidnapped.

It is the religion of Islam that causes hate and triggers attacks.

Never do something just to appease a shaddy religion.

As drunk as the koolaid left is on drinking their mess, we need to expose them. The gays rioted because of an election. We still need elections and we still need to follow the law.

However, after listening to what Lindsey Graham said about releasing the photos of Sadam's sons so that Iraq would be satisfied, I think that I am more inclined, now, to having Osama's photos published. After all, fighting Al-Qadea has been the mission and he was the head of that group.

I do remember many being satisfied after Sadam's son's photos were released.

All of this changing the story as to what happened, i.e., Osama armed/not armed, wife shot and killed/shot in leg, etc., is only fueling the fire of controversy.

Why does this President always have to have so many questions of doubt lingering after everything he does? It's like he carries a huge question mark hovering around him all the time. He gives the aura of mistrust at every step. Always making you feel uncomfortable. I don't like it.
Supposed to be the "most transparent presidency in history". Whatever.

And this moral high ground argument about the grisly photos? Seriously? From a nation who produces blockbuster movies like SAW, SAW 2, SAW 3, etc, and all the other gorefests that people flock to the cinemas for? A mation that produces video games displaying dismemberment and death? A nation that defends all of this and more as "art"?

And we want to get all Puritan about a gruesome picture of OBL? Please...

JD, everything is an excuse for our enemies to kill us. Look, there is nothing we can or can't do to change their agenda. They want us dead. Not for Abu Ghraib photos, or photos of their dead leader. Their holy book compels them to kill us. Their parents teach them to kill us. Their schools and religious leaders repetitiously convince them to kill us.

This constant angst over hurting the feelings of our enemies wears me out. If they want to be reasonable and negotiate some workale peace agreement, fine. But until they denounce their vision for world domination and the slaughter of every non-Muslim, we are never going to impress them with our being sensitive to them.

But we don't need to be selfish at the expense of our troops and our mission-- which would be greatly complicated by the release of the pictures.

It's not a necessary risk to take.

With the focus on our mission firm, the release of the dead punk's photos will ultimately do nothing to help our mission, but may go a long way to complicate our mission.

If the pics had been released by the Obama Admin straight away, then there would be criticism of this non-military serving President acting haphazzardly to endanger the lives of the men and women under his command.

Another example of, "let's find something to criticize without thinking...."
