As we walk in relationship with Jesus, our nature is changed and from this changed nature our desire for sin is diminished day by day.
Godly living should be a natural outflow of maturity in Christ. We tend to be drawn to what we focus on, if we fear and focus on sin, sin is empowered. If we focus on Jesus, the Word and His presence, we are empowered to live accordingly.
What you are saying is true. Nonetheless an apostle of Jesus Christ still was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write these warnings. One could be destroyed for their sin.
Generally if one sins they may have a chance to repent. It seems as if the Holy Spirit is warning through the apostle not to just take that for granted.
Anannias and Saphira commited one sin that we know of and both were slain by the Lord. YHWH would have us to understand this.
I don't fear sin, I just don't have any desire to commit it much less practice it. Why would any born again spirit filled christian want to commit sin in the first place. Is that in their nature? Jesus gave us his spirit to have power over sin and Paul said," sin no longer has power over you". Getting a right mental attitude and picture of what and who you are might get the victory that a lot of Christians are struggling for.

I've knew a Christian who had a problem. He was a pedophile. I never discussed it with him, but I can imagine that he struggled with it, tried to stop, felt bad about it, etc. If so, it really wasn't him committing that horrible sin, was it? Wasn't it just the sin the lived within him, that did it?

I could invite you to a list of churches where members are made VERY aware of this.
Consider the incidents the verses refer to though--all part of the Exodus. They didn't just commit fornication, they were having an orgy while Moses was on the Mount getting the Ten Commandments. They wanted to kill Moses. They disobeyed what God had just told them to do. Very few times (the man picking up sticks; any others?) was someone killed at God's command for one sin. It was when they pursued sin that they were destroyed. Though we shouldn't make a habit of sin, and should be careful, we should not live in terror that if we make a mistake we're doomed.
As for your title: 1 Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
We are not to fear anything EXCEPT GOD. Jesus said so.
10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
I dont remember Jesus saying "dont make a habit of sin". I do remember him saying "go and sin no more".

Some are not Christians at all that say they are. Yet Paul does warn saints against committing fornication. No doubt he will be accountable for the sin.
The Christian is not a debtor to live after the flesh.
8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

This is sin defined in various scripture portions. There are others to consider. If one has given themselves to the reading of the scriptures they will find them.
