Re: A Word from the Lord....

Just stop and consider the promises in Psalm 91:11-12 for our protection from the enemy and for our power over the enemy.

Then notice our relationship with the Lord in verses 14-16 and the 7 promises He gives us:

--Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him:
--I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
--He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:
--I will be with him in trouble;
--I will deliver him, and honour him.
--With long life will I satisfy him,
--and shew him my salvation (the word salvation here is yeshua, Strong's word no. 3444)

Actually, when I posted it, I was thinking (and praying) about your situation. So, you just made MY day. Thanks!

Re: A Word from the Lord....

Years ago, when I lost my first wife, I went into what can only be described as a downward spiral. I had been an evangelist, preaching since I was 15. Then, in 88 my wife was killed. I lost my everything and became very angry at God. One night I laid on my bed reading the Bible. How could I have put so much faith in this Book? How could I have trusted the God of the Book? I had tried to serve Him the beat I knew how, and He let me down.

I laid the Bible across my chest and fell asleep. Later, I woke up and starting reading. My eyes fell upon these passages from Psalms 91.

Quote:
Because you have set your love upon me, therefore will I deliver you: I will set you on high, because you have known my name.

You shall call upon me, and I will answer you: I will be with you in trouble; I will deliver you, and honour you.
I couldn't believe my eyes. It seemed as if God was speaking to me right out of the Book. Here I was in a backslidden condition, but God was speaking to me. I had known Him. My love had been set on Him, but all that was past tense. Then I read that God WILL do all these things for me, if I would just call on His Name.

I wanted to share these verses with someone and opened the Bible to read them. But something was different. I was surprised to find it worded lke this:

Quote:
Because HE hath set HIS love upon me, therefore will I deliver HIM: I will set HIM on high, because HE hath known my name.

HE shall call upon me, and I will answer HIM: I will be with HIM in trouble; I will deliver HIM, and honour HIM
.
So, I eventually did call upon Him. And He did go with me through trouble. He did answer. He did deliver. And he did honor me with a wonderful wife and a happy home.

But then, as most know, my 2nd wife passed away in 2008. But things were and are different this time. This time I didn't lose my faith in the Book. And I didn't lose faith in the God of the Book. He's been with me thru trouble, and I rest in the assurance that God will never fail.

Re: A Word from the Lord....

The last day I spent with my ex wife when I left was some of the hardest days for me...I drove off and miles down the road pulled over and broke down and wept...I cried so hard each individual muscle in my face started spasming and I literally thought I was having a seizure. My parents didnt know the extent of our marital problems...I felt so alone..then I get to class that night and lo and behold we are having the obstetrics chapter in EMT class...I get to see baby after baby brought into the world to be greeted by happy families...and again I weep trying to sit in the darkness and hide it...weeping cause it was all hitting home that I might not ever experience that now.
Psalm 91 :1 says :He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Sometimes dwelling in His shelter means we gotta dwell in some dark shadows.
