Re: If a Jew asked..

Christ is the only way to God due to the need for atonement due to the sins of mankind. The crucifixion was the only way a sinless sacrifice for man could be provided. Christ died AS US and FOR US in order to be atoned to God again.

How would you respond?

I want to give him an answer without error/doubt.
Why believe in Moses?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

In the link below about 1/4 the way down there begins a list of messianic prophecies and the fulfillment thereof. I'd copy paste the chart but the forum doesn't hold columns and it would be a jumbled mess.

I would imagine that the only ones that would be of major importance upfront would be any that deal with the manner in which the messiah would come and Jesus' fulfillment of those. There isn't much in the NT that you could use that would impress him except to demonstrate that Jesus fulfilled an OT prophecy. You're going to have to come at this using the OT.

Thank you!!
I sent him some links, plus yours. Mine were:

The messianic prophecies brought this back to my mind:
"The New Testament is the best commentary on the Old Testament that we have. Paul said that the Jews had a veil over their eyes when reading the Old Testament, but that veil is removed with Christ (2 Cor. 3:14)."
