I think the biggest thing I ever realized that is not in the New Testament when I really began to read and study it, was that tithing was never taught anywhere in the New Testament. Giving was always taught, but *tithing* not once is mentioned in the New Testament in regards to a doctrine or an actual commandment as it is preached today. And I don't know if anyone has heard about the "5 percent offering" that was preached in my church. It actually was preached as standard of giving. Where is THAT in the Bible - anywhere? Curious if there are other churches out there who teach that. Now THAT is fallacy.
I figured that would be the case, especially if you still want to be the teacher next Sunday...
How about Noah and the ark - and they always show the 2x2s in the pictures/story books, but they also came in by sevens. 2x2s unclean, and 7x7s that were clean...

Actually... if you look at it real close... They brought 4 of each unclean animal and 14 of each clean animal. For one thing... you can't bring 7 animals in by 2's. God was counting the males and the males were to be brought in with his female.
So 2 males of the unclean with his female and 7 males of the clean with his female.
"Many Christians do not try to understand what was written in a verse in the Bible. Instead they approach the passage to prove what they already believe."
The Bible doesn't say when the wise men came. It could have been anywhere from shortly after circumcision to two years old, since Herod ordered all children under two to be killed.
When were the apostles baptized? Who baptized them? (*hint: it's not recorded in Acts)
Which Mary washed Jesus' feet with her tears?
If there were 12 disciples, why are 13 listed amongst the gospels: Simon Peter, Andrew, James son of Zebedee, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot, Judas Iscariot and Nathaniel? (Mt 10:2-4, Jn 1:35-51)

"Plead the Blood" is a phrase you often hear during altar services. Not in the Bible, and... well, just exactly what does it mean to "Plead the Blood".
When I was young snot nosed teenaged preacher (who knew everything), I decided one day that I would use as my text the Scripture, "The Holy Ghost will not dwell in an unclean temple". I admitted I couldn't find it in the Bible (but was sure it was there), so proceeded to quote it verbatim. The pastor stood and stopped me in my tracks. He said, "If you can't find it in the Bible, you can't preach it here". Thats when I learned a valuable lesson: I didn't know everything. Thank God, I do now though. (hee-hee)
Still lookin' for that verse (I'm sure its in There.)
Heres another, "God writes your name in the Lambs Book of Life when you get saved".
