Re: OUR Newest church

I love these pictures. I think Americans have to find balance. We have a beautiful new building, and I'm sure we spent money we could have saved. But in America, it takes a different kind of building to reach the masses. So I struggle all the time between being thankful and feeling guilty over it. LOL!! When I see pictures like this, I wish I had a million dollars to buy chairs and shoes and so on.......

Re: OUR Newest church

Sherri...if Americans had the burden you all carry for the lost things on the mission field would be different all over the world...God wants people to have nice things in in the foreign lands however many places in America sadly have no burden. I really believe that is why God had blessed you and Eddie because of your giving to missions. His promises are to bless over and over again those who give.

I am proud to have a friend like you all. In fact I mentioned how kind you all were to us to the little pastor's wife hee in Bahia...It means so much to a missionary to know they have a friend that is REALLY a friend...a bed to offer...a place to wash clothes...somewhere they know they can pass by and they will be fed...

YOU are not gulilty at all. I did not see waste in your new building. It is nice, clean and big and what you all need.

I KNOW if you had a million you would give...sadly there are others and I don't mean to judge that have millions but missionaries are treated like beggars...however the good is always in a larger portion...so what some may not do others make up for it.

I had a young missionary from another field write me the other day...so sad about the way some had treated them in the states...

It is often hard when you are on your own...that was their problem...but they like us have in mind a national church on their field.

Just yesterday a well seasoned Brazilian pastor thanked me for the years of suffering to raise up a national church.

I thought about you as we were driving through the WILD...you would have loved being in this part of Brazil....

What a wonderful way to start the day.

Hard to imagine anything more beautiful or precious.

Thank you for sharing that Janice!

Sis. A - I'm not a "dancer" but if I saw one of those spiders, I could do a "two-step" pretty quick!! just to get out of it's way!!! Many blessings to you and your family!

What a wonderful work.
I think there will be extra rewards just for living and doing God's work around those spiders! *shiver*

Re: OUR Newest church

I am used to spiders in the backlands....I have been bitten twice...

Rather be there than sitting at the airport where I am now...we flew up here on a small plane and have to wait 5 hours for the connection to our place...

I love to share my exciting life...I have never lost the wonder of being a missionary....yes there are hard things to face...it was soooooooooo hot...the bed was unconfortable. The food was typical backlands food...but they gave us more than their best...There were hosts of mosquitos and we dared not drink the water but just seeing so many precious people that have come from devil worship makes all the other things so small...
