Isn't this something you would save for certain superstar evangelists who occasionally visits? You can have two guys roll it our just as he walks to take the stage and a couple of waif like girls sprinkling flowers for nice effect but how would you suggest picking them up after short of using a vacuum cleaner (which I would assume is far too noisy)?

Why do you think people do that?
When my husband first began attending church with me, there were always one or two people that had to run around in the morning service.
I always shut my eyes thinking what I don't see won't make me squirm nor see my husband make a mad dash for the back door!
