He didn't come right out and say, "defective." Adam said, "the woman whom Thou hast given me..." I guess Adam was sort of looking for a "do over" again in the "help meet" making process.

The animals weren't right. The woman wasn't right. What was Adam going after next? A beer drinking buddy? Nope, sorry dude. The woman has been sort of short shrifted ever since.
