If you search the news on google for anything about Machete or Robert Rodriguez you'll find a slew of links about this being released as a message to AZ. You still think this isn't a political statement? This is a punch to the face - it's that blatant.

Oh, that was pretty funny, honestly. The re-edited part. Didn't watch the rest of the trailer.

I definitely think that the re-edited trailer is a political statement, since Rodriguez said it was. The film, not so much, since it was already created and completed well before the Arizona controversy.

The article should really be headlined, "Re-edited trailer declares war on Arizona for Immigration Law" since that is the only thing that has changed. I reckon that doesn't roll off of the tongue as easily, however.

I agree with you both, it's a bit of journalistic and creative editing on their part to say the "film" is declaring war on the AZ bill. Most links I've seen do combine both the film and the controversy only because of the new trailer that has the extra bit added.

I do agree with you on that. He is making his political dissatisfaction known through the trailer. A humorous way of doing it to me.
