Plano Meeting??? What on earth are you all talking about?
JT .... if you may remember some of the more "liberal" UPCI fellas got together last year near Detroit, Michigan for some fellowship time .... caused a real big stink and distrust among the con types like Paul Mooney.

They will be meeting again it seems .... in Plano
The Michigan District Men's Conference is coming up and Mooney is a scheduled speaker. I curious to hear what his message will be concerning.
Speaking of T. F. Tenney: it's amazing how a man can evolve--OR the perception of a man evolve; I'm not saying which applies in this case.
TF Tenney got his rep and street cred in the UPC at a general conference in the late 1960s. It may have been in Atlantic City.
In that clarion voice of his, he spoke across the meeting floor to Oscar Vouga: then UPCI Foreign Missions Director. Vouga, I believe, was a PCI man. At least he was considered "weak on the message."
Tenney said in a voice of indignation and wounded trust: "Brother Vouga! You mean we have missionaries on the field that do NOT believe you have to speak in tongues to be saved?!!?"
Elected the next UPCI FM Director, I believe, at that very General Conference was: T. F. Tenney. He earned his spurs as a young up-and-comer.

We all know the story from there.
Wow! When our children grow up our perception is inevitably adjusted, seems to hold true in TF's case as with most of us.

I have got to think the Texas district and the Enseyites have some grave concerns about this event happening in the republic of Texas?
South Texas is a different world, so I understand.

Of course they had missionaries in the field who taught that people were saved without speaking with tongues. That was standard doctrine among a large group in the UPC and published in the UPC magazine and literature.
When I heard of the "shock" expressed by TFT about that condition, it reminded me of the police official in Casablanca who said something like, "It has come to my attention that gambling is going on here. I am shocked. shocked." and just about then someone walked up to him and handed him his winnings from when he'd been in the back room earlier.

I've changed my mind, I will comment further.
TFT "played the three-step card" just like later politicians play "the race card." I can't judge his motives (but I think we know what they were from the results) just like we can't judge the motives of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Barack Obama when they play the race card.
