Remitted means forgiveness .... NT uses the word aphesis for both ...
  • If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Acts is written to Theophilus yet it contains words for the believer and unbeliever ... 1 John is written to churches ... but to say it only applies to the believer is to strip it of it's effectiveness ....
