I am sure that at least a few of them still think Derren Brown was the real thing (just like our own DM believes), even after admitting himself that he isn't.
It is important to realize that Derren Brown is a magician and master hypnotist as well as mentalist. He is open to using any trick in the book in order to appear to have various powers. When doing his remote viewing test in Sedona, AZ, he probably "suggested" things to the drawer in the other room before she even went there. When "speaking to the dead" he also very likely did some basic research into some of the audience members in order to get a few basic "facts" that he could hit on -just like any good televangelist would.
