I want someone who flat out works for a week with us to build a Sunday Service.
Any recommendations?
It only sounds ironic that you want a real worker and not a speaker only, when you folks are where you are and have the burden, as if to demean a speaker as being (ahem) lazy. It just sounds (ahem) lazy to take what is really only your task and desire another to come and do it. To speak of speakers who only speak and not "flat-out" work is to expect more of someone else concerning what yourselves should do more. It sounds offkey. lol. It's your area. I think if it is God's will for a man to come like you describe, God will send such a person without sending out request applications.

Apoc and his group are still just starting out. Bringing in some help can be a great way to give everyone a good kick start. Dude's not even married yet. At least he's not asking for help there!
Plus, it's fun to meet folks who've done what you're trying to do. Learn some new things, hear some success stories, make contacts and make new friends in the ministry.
I don't think he was demeaning the "speaker only" types, just throwing an idea out there and seeing if anyone had some good experiences to share.

It just sounded that way, though. If that was not the intent, I see no issue.

Last year we baptized over 150 souls up from 3 the previous year in the church I took over as outreach minister at.
And yes, we will be doing weekly outreach. I was simply asking for some good recommendations for traveling outreach evangelists to help us with quarterly community events, not a broadside as to whether I was too weaksauce to do local evangelism as a church planter. When you start from scratch it helps to have outside hands give you a boost. Like for a fact that the Downs family (all 4 of them that travel) are a force multiplier since they do what they do every week in and out.

Pretty much on the money
And I get married on July 10th. We will be starting preview services in October according to the current plan.
uh... if we're thinking of the same guy, will he be free to be scheduled in the next... oh, say 10 - 20 years? Ten with good behavior?
Could be, but doubtful. He's small potatoes, but thinks he's really hot stuff. (Which probably describes a good 50% of evangelists, anyway.) I wouldn't be surprised if my guy has the same availability, though!

Nah, who I really need is Mike Murdock or Munsey to come and raise my budget in one day just like he does on Daystar... pfft..
But seriously are the ranks of outreach focused evangelists that thin that I can't get any answers after 2 days of floating this topic? I know David Smith, Jen and Julie Cook are also good in that area. But doesn't this kind of say something about the current crop of traveling speakers that no one can name several right off the bat?
