Re: Alright....HELP!!!
You should see my parents' tree-they are still satisfying their kids and grandkids today! Candy canes for the boys to eat, my sister's and my favorite ornaments as kids, no breakables near the ground for the grandkids... and almost all homemade over a 30 year span. It isn't picture perfect, but it is perfect.

Re: Alright....HELP!!!
Personally, I would go all red... I am not a fan of Gold, it is way too heavy and formal for me...even at Christmas.
I tell ya what color I am so drawn to lately and it is the funky green and red.. not Christmas Green, but almost lime. One of my trees is done in that.
I have two trees done in all red, and I have a blue/silver tree too...

Re: Alright....HELP!!!
This is a smidge off topic. I know there are many anti Christmas tree Apostolics.
Last year one of the church families offered their home for an adults only Christmas party. My husband and I went even though it was aimed at the 50 and under crowd...
There were five or six trees; all with a different theme. I can't recall all of them; angels, snowmen, nativity ornaments etc. All very nice. I was amused since there are UPC groups totally against trees. And they had a TV/movie room in the basement .

Re: Alright....HELP!!!
Actually, right now I'm ready to chunk my kids out the back door into the snow...they are home because of the snow...and they are driving me nuts....It's amazing how much we can love them, I mean, I'd die for my boys right now...then in the next thought, I would love to open the door and throw them out...like right now..they are fighting cause the oldest is in the youngest ones room and won't leave him alone...he likes to play and doesn't know when to quit, the other one quits really soon.
Ok. I hijacked my own thread...sorry had to run a rabbit..actually two of them...hehehe

Re: Alright....HELP!!!
I would but then I'd have to listen to them whinning about how cold it is...plus Granny is here, and that wouldn't go over too good....
I beat them when she's not here (at least that's what she thinks...)

I know how you feel, and you don't have to feel guilty. We all have days like that. On those days, I find mine chores to do when they can't occupy themselves and stop fighting with each other. The more they gripe, the more I find for them to do.
I have my 10 year old in the living room sitting on the loveseat watching a cartoon on DVD since I can't send him outside because he's been so sick for the last couple of weeks. My 16 year old daughter is out hanging icicle lights so that they have a break from each other. It's cold out, but no snow-- and she's bundled up enough I hope.
There are just days they can't stand looking at each other since they are homeschooled together all the time.... fortunately, today isn't one of those days.
