Re: Pentecostal Youth Wreck Havok

This is from their Beliefs section. I really like their three basic premises.

Quote:
Christ Life Church is a basic Bible believing fellowship. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, giving a true record of the heavens and the earth, and of mankind, and containing a correct prophecy of the ages to come regarding the destiny of man.

Furthermore, we believe in three basic premises:

(1) Nothing contrary to Scripture can be true.

(2) Nothing in addition to Scripture can be eternally binding.

(3) Nothing less than obedience to Scripture can be pleasing to God
.

Yeah, probably some sort of "neo-fundy" wackos. Who knows? ... probably tell the men how to shave and the women how to wear their hair.

Is the word "obedience" a problem for you, Pel?

Aha!...a rebellious and stubborn spirit manifests itself!

Would you like deliverance?

Re: Pentecostal Youth Wreck Havok

Our youth group does that 30 Hour Famine every year. They have a lock-in at the Epic Center (our youth facility) and go Glo-Bowling lots of times. Then at the end of the 30 hours, we feed them tacos or some other "kid food". They have a GREAT time doing it.

My boys have done it every year for the past 4 of 5 years.

What is it with breaking this particular fast with tacos? I think that's what they did in the AZ church in the article as well.

Re: Pentecostal Youth Wreck Havok

Is this church affiliated with a specific organization?

If no, did it used to be?

The founding pastor was once a UPC pastor at what many people at the time called the "Headquarter's Church" in the St. Louis area. His father had pastored that church for a number of years prior.

He left the UPC and started this church in the Tempe area a number of years ago. He has since passed away. The current pastor is an alum of a UPC Bible College.
