Re: President Obama

Too bad you didn't see what most of us saw during the campaign ...

That BHO is mostly eloquent talk - as long as he can read from a teleprompter.

That he's too indecisive, which is being proven with the mess in Afghanistan - which, yes, he did inherit as a mess, but has done nothing to improve on ... and has caused to become even a greater mess. Last update I read on the news today was BHO is sending 13,000 troops to Afghanistan.

Hmmm...the General hand-picked by BHO requested no less than 30,000 and BHO is sending less than half that. Nice.

I'm happy BHO will be a one-term President. You really want this do-nothing, indecisive, poll-seeking idiot in the White House for 8 years? (After complaining and whining non-stop about the last "idiot" in the WH?)

Outside of that, I am not sure our President has accomplished much.

The Healthcare Reform could have been his chance to shine as a leader by coming out with a specific plan.

HIS SPECIFIC PLAN WOULD HAVE REFLECTED LEADERSHIP. The LACK of HIS SPECIFIC PLAN DEMONSTRATES A DISAPPOINTING LACK OF LEADERSHIP.

With 2 wars and the threat of a third one looming, healthcare reform in limbo, the lingering national unemployment problem and all other issues that have appeared, our President is not is not showing leadership.

He has recently stated that the Democrats are in trouble, in reference to the 2010 elections.

Well Mr. President, just like for the prior President, if your party is in trouble, it is YOUR fault.

GWB made VERY BAD DECISIONS
. In fact, I AM STILL ANGRY about his bad decisions and the deception that he and his cronies fostered.

Bush signed the Mexico law and defunded abotrtions worldwide

Obama first thing reinnstated paying for abortions outside the U.S.
Slaughtering 4,000 babies a day is some twisted example of leadership. It is safe to conclude supporting Obama is flirting with moral depravity based on abortion alone.

That being said, YOU, Mr. President are equally as maddening as GWB, but in a different way, as LATELY you seem to be utterly INCAPABLE of making a stand on anything and sticking to it.

AMERICA NEEDS LEADERSHIP!

OUR WORLD NEEDS LEADERSHIP!

BE THE LEADER THAT YOUR CHARISMA, MANNERISMS AND INFLUENCE PROMISES YOU TO BE...

OR GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!

Sadly, I too predict our beloved President to be a one-term President.

If his next three years are anything like the first one, there will simply be no justification for this Republican to cross party lines to vote for him.

I love our President. I support our President. I respect our President and my Commander In Chief. I pray for our President.

I suggest we all pray for him and not hope for his demise, for wherever he fails, America fails.

God bless America!

God bless President Obama.

Re: President Obama

The man is doing what we said he would do before the election and what those who wanted him said he would not do.

His inexperience was discussed. It was rejected.
His socalist tendencies were discussed. They claimed he wasnt a socalist.
His wierd background with radical friends was dicussed. it was deemed a slanderous attack.

He has now shown no leadership
He is attempting to radically socalize vast portions of the economy while at the same time he has nationalized large sections of banking and auto industries.
He as appointed very radical/communist people to very important policy postions in the government.

EVERYTHING we said he would do, he has done, or is doing AND WORSE! Consider what is going on in California where vast agricultral areas (with conservative voters) are having their water and their economy SHUT OFF.)

Those of you who suppoted this thing have gotten what you deserve. The rest of us are just having to pay for your political tantrium.

Re: President Obama

Recession ending? My husband has been out of work since April, a first in the 15 years we've been married. He had ONE response to submitting an application back in June, and they hired an inside guy. That guy quit, and now that SAME company is giving him a small bite--BUT the company itself is shutting down, so it would be a short-term contract. It's almost funny. His web business has kept us going, BUT the economy has affected his sales--oh, yeah--they've gone UP--because more people are at home, smoking chicken in their back yards instead of working. You have to understand--my husband has NEVER had a problem getting a job. He is a professional with a sterling work record, and we joke about the fact that if he can just get an interview, he'll have the job.

Unemployment is UP, not down. When we go to the grocery store, prices are UP. The only thing I can think of that has gone down in price recently is gas. Oklahoma's unemployment rate hasn't been this high since 1988.

How on earth is the recession "ending sooner" rather than later?????

Unemployment rate as of Sept. 2009

Currently 9.8% according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

I would love to see the information you have that the recession is ending--it might give us a little hope in this household that things will be looking up again very soon. So any data you have--please post it.

In short ... see, HE told you so! He's done nothing we didn't know about during the campaign. And yet people still voted for him.

The "recession is ending" is 2 things. It is bragging and since it is not true, it is actually hurtfull.
The other part is some claim false hope builds consumer confidence.
I relocated a manager from the San Francisco bay area to Tulsa in the mid eighties. There were thousands of houses for sale. Oral Roberts execs were selling their Mercedes Benzes to clean up their image. Opening new Marriot drew 2,500 applicants. Semcrude rippled more than a few wallets in Oklahoma and kansas. Tulsa will come back bigger than before but with different people. Obama has about 3 primary growth choking endeavors. If he backs off, that alone will cause growth. Obama also has a couple of job killing endeavors that are not yet developed.
If we see a near term growth spurt, it will be from a bubble and it will drop and cause another round of pain.

Example. The dot.com and telecom bubbles made clinton 8 years look fairly good. The dot.com bubble burst the first of 2001. It was hammered by a lock up of commerce post 9/11.
Good news. In ordinary recovery cycles, Sales jobs come first, then engineering technical and then manufactoring and service followed by labor and support staff and IT.
This time, a larger burst will come from temp firms before traditional employment because companies want to avoid being nailed by mandatory health insurance upon hiring.

Ferd, You are absolutely spot on and again I say Spot on!
I live in central California and am well aware of this total preposterous attack by the federal government.
It is said, this is the first time in history that a government has shut off water to it's own citizenry. It has been and is done often by foreign nations in an attempt to defeat a neighboring nation by causing a "drought" to force that nation under attack to submit to the nation up stream by removing their ability to survive. The exact same thing is going on today against a very large industry (banks, autos, insurance and now agriculture soon others) and also a very conservative leaning region. Coincedence? Yeah right!
Our own government is attacking it's own citizens! Your industry and well being is next, because with our wealth comes power and they are attempting to remove our wealth/power.
Read your history books for their next move, it is all predictable and preventable IF WE WAKE UP!!!
