Folks, if the trucking industry shut down, in 3 days there would be no food available in the US, except those stored up by "survivalist" types.
If there were a massive crop failure or drought in the US, same thing.
I was reading just a few days ago, that the world food supply is actually too low to accomodate the growing demand. China has now become a major grain importer.
When your food is imported, it means you aren't making enough of your own.
We have wars for oil resources presently, soon there may be wars for food resources.
Which is strange, because there is no need for massive famine in this day. Food can be grown easily even independently of the weather due to greenhouse technologies.
When you factor in the pervading and spreading propagation of "genetically modified" food crop seeds, we have a MASSIVE disaster in the making... which is very convenient for those who wish to push for statist globalism.
From one "threat" to the next, the "solution" is ALWAYS more government regulation, control, and more dependence upon government "assistance". Funny how that works...
Get a manual grain miller, stock up on natural rice, wheat, corn, oats, beans, plant a garden, grow food crops, can can can all you can, learn to hunt and prepare game...
Otherwise, you may starve to death.
We survived the Great Depression and the "dustbowl" of the 30s... but only because most folks already lived the "survivalist lifestyle" as a matter of course. Strange how normal living is now considered "survivalist living"...
I'm afraid most of us don't know how to live survivalist, to be honest.

well, because history repeats itself, let me say that America will eventually fall. there will eventually natural disasters that cause massive famine. There will be attacks in and on America where many die and many more die from not being prepared to deal with the fall out.
That does not mean that I buy what so many are selling these days. this "end of America" or "Gods judgement" or "Apoclytic preaching" has been with us since Peter and Paul walked the earth.
one of these days someone will say "the end is here" and the end will show up. If you say "it is one oclock" every five minutes, eventually you will be correct.

Says who? Great Britain has been around for what, 800-900 years? Russia is about 900 years and still going. What about Switzerland? Let's see, they've been around as a nation since the 15th century (that would be about 500 years?)

Silly comparison. While many do preach doom and gloom and are off their rocker, the fact is danger DOES exist and lack of preparation is the number one cause of victimization.
Ferd, I think I misunderstood what you meant about apocalyptic preaching. I think the Second Coming may be pretty close. But I also think I might be wrong about that. Indications are that the "second coming any time now" crowd have an agenda that actually harms the nation, ergo I suspect much of their preaching....
However, God IS judging America, that is my firm belief.
