If that means no more Texas Longhorns, I might be for it. haha!
That would be one of the more effective remedies for the Razorbacks not losing to the Longhorns any more.

I expect Texas would do just fine. Though I like Rick Perry just fine.

Her run for governor might take votes away from Rick which could have the effect of putting another stupid useless dem in public office. God help the state then.

I guess that would depend on if Texas got to keep all the money their citizens send to the federal government, gas taxes, social security, federal tax, etc. Do you think the federal government has money that DOESN'T come from the states?

Texas also still has enough oil to supply it's own needs, we could tell the USA to go pound sand when it comes to oil.

Re: Debra Medina-Texas Soveriegnty Or Secession Ra

I got the chance to listen to her last night. And this idiot:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmqtNiy4lgc

"I hate the United States"? "I hate that flag"?

The secessionist movement in TX isn't new, but it seems to be gathering steam, and they are spouting the same rhetoric that was spouted in 1859-61, look how well that worked out for everyone involved.

I don't love the Obama administration, but I do love my country.

Yep... you're right.

That was the result the last time anyone tried to secede wasn't it?

If a state decided to secede they should be able to do so without warfare.

But that won't happen.

But... on the subject of the fellow in the video. He does speak ignorantly.

I edited my post down to remove some of my own spouted rhetoric, but that is true, Peaceful Secession should be allowed. But it won't be.

No sir... it won't.

And... per the edit I made to my post... People spouting ignorantly in the manner the cowboy in the video did won't help things either.

Goodness, so true! He seemed more a hick than a cowboy.

Succession would only leave the federal agencies and military power with our current federal government. The only answer to our problems is cession.

All of the collective states need to repeal the 17th Amendment so that we can replace party rule with state rule which is found in the Constitution.

Repealing the 17th Amendment reverts power back to the states and only allows the Government to operate by consent of the governed states.
