And then shorter than that, and look out, Butch.
I'll have you know that I have short hair (chin length) and I am not in any way shape or form butch!

The other evening I was fixing my hair up in a simple, yet "becoming" style,
and I was reflecting on some of the comments made by posters on AFF. It
came to me, why would some equate long uncut hair with "witches".

When I was single I wore my shoulder length hair down and curled. Fine, not
thick by nature, and it was not hard to handle.

I married fifty years ago this coming July. After I married and had a child I started wearing my hair up. Not only did it grow but I was very comfortable with it up. It seemed that being married and having a child, I had a "settled" feeling. I was no longer interested in being "available" as a girlfriend. I was a wife and mother and now a part of a "new" beginnng family.

Back to the "witch" part. A witch is usually portrayed as a "hag", complete
with snaggled teeth, long stringy hair and riding on a broom. Who in the
world would want to be compared with that!

I think a grey haired woman with grown children, her long hair hanging down,
whether it is trimmed or uncut, etc., does not do herself justice.

We are supposed to be "modeling" for the generation following us. How will they knowhow to "model" to their children and grandchildren, if they have no "pattern" or example to go by!: May all who come behind us, find
us faithful!

And a man/husband who would make his lady feel badly because after bear-
ing his children, and growing older, she didn't look quite like the "girl he married, is one immature person! Yes, she should always care about her
appearance as much as possible if she lives to be an 100. At 84 yrs our
mother was a lovely, soft-looking lady with beautiful white hair, peaches
and cream skin, and the sweetest smile, after bearing and raising eleven
children. They adored "Momma". Momma modeled for me and I have en-
deavored to model for my precious children and grandchildren. Our Wonder-
ful Counsellor helped Momma and HE has helped and guided me.

In September this lady with grey hair, fixed in a simple, yet becoming, hair-
style, by then will turn 70 yrs, will have been married to the same man for 50 yrs, mother of six (three of each, all married to their original spouses), all active in church, 20 grandchildren, 15 g-sons, 5 g-girls, all in church. If you think I feel badly that my hair is grey (still have some auburn) and un-cut, and long, that I feel badly! I feel like a queen. God has been SO good to me and my family. But HE is no respector of persons. I am not intimidated no matter what anyone says about me, I know WHOSE I am and I wouldn't trade places with anyone!!! HE is # ONE in my life. My main concern is that HE is pleased with my life.

In my mind, I can see the older queens of England with their hair softly
fixed up in an elegant style. They want to present themselves as royalty.
and the real royalty stands out!

I can also see a old "witch" with her long unkept hair blowing in the wind
as she glides here and there. Wonder what she is looking for? Somehow she
doesn't seem content, settled or satisfied. On the other hand, an elegant
queen, looks quite royal, sitting on a "throne" beside her "king". He's the one
she desires to please! No matter her grey her hair gets, or how many years
she has seen. We're all going to grow old and if the right things are in place,
we will never have to worry about being "replaced"!

Not intended to offend anyone, and if I have used "I" too many times, it
is because this post is about this lady.

Just some Falla thoughts this lovely summer morning in America! Happy
Memorial Day weekend!

Hugs,

Falla39

Exactly, Miss Bratified,

We can be attractive without "emitting" the spirit of sensuality
We can be "presentable" without having an unholy motive!

Attractive women cannot help but be sensual. Now there is a difference in being provocative or forward. If a woman tries at all to dress nice and have nice hair men will notice.

I was going to say that, but it's better coming FROM a man.

David,

My hair is much longer than this now, but putting your "beliefs" aside - you are telling me I look butch in this picture?
