and no it is nothing personal...just things I hear about and it stuns me to think that some people had rather kill then lend a hand...
Reminds me of a time a visitor from the states pointed out a girl that had a low cut blouse on and told me I needed to tell her to change her blouse...I could feel that deep pit feeling in the bottom of my stomach...I replied, Really, I am just glad the person is here...we are probably the persons only hope...and no I am not running her away...
How did the so called church become so calloused and cold?
I cringe at the hardness among some fellowships...
either I have a wrong opinion of Jesus or I am wrong or something...When I hear preachers brag about skinning sheep I imagine a little bleeding lamb...I see nothing pretty about it and sure nothing to brag about.
Do I believe in doing right? Of course I do! However when we have no mercy to show it will happen that we will at some point need mercy and who will show us mercy if we have been unmerciful?

I know all know I am an UC...but this is cute...I have a friend that is JW so they go for hours knocking on doors...she meet an UC from a certain church here and begin to tell her about living forever on earth and their little talk...the UC looked at her and said, donīt you ever come trying to teach me the Bible with your cut hair...my friend looked at the UC...and knew her reputation and said to her...well, it looks like your tongue is as long as your hair! lol

You keep saying over and over that you are a UC, but based on my own personal definition of what a UC is, you are not one. In fact, I would describe you as a flaming liberal compared to what "I" consider a modern stateside UC to be. (And that is meant as a sincere compliment!)
Funny you should post this Sis Alvear, I was lying in bed last night & the thought crossed my mind if thier were any stats available over the last 2 years of on average how many members drop in on any given days, how many guests?
Are there days that are busier?
Are there times of the year that are quieter?
