Re: Please answer these very easy questions.

Perhaps the cloud was 'shaped' like a man's hand? IDK

Intriguing question though.

Re: Please answer these very easy questions.

Was there some sort of significance of the cloud being shaped like a man's hand?

The hand of God?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

No, IMHO (or imagination?)... "Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand."

This will work better if you're still feverish Prax, if not then just try and play along.

Ever see someone going down "for the third time?" Only in cartoons, I hope. Anyhow, that's how I've envisioned this cloud. Israel was literally beaten down, the king was in sackcloth and many people had already died of the famine and drought.

While we see this suffering in hindsight as being somewhat justified given the sins of the nation, try to imagine at least that you and I are one of those 7,000 mentioned later who never bowed to Baal.

And then there "ariseth out of the sea..." something that looks like a drowning man reaching in vain for a life saving hold. This cloud then blossoms into the rain clouds that save Israel from utter destruction.

At least that's how I've seen it at times, with or without the fever induced delirium.

Ain't had time to check it out yet, but here's one for you. Other than the original 12 apostle's, who were the other 3?

Re: Please answer these very easy questions.

The wise men were not present at Jesus' birth.

The cloud WAS NOT the size of a man's hand. The only description we have is that it was "little."

So was the little cloud shaped like a man's hand or was it little...as little as a man's hand in size rising up out of the sea? Size or shape?

1 Kings 18:44 KJV And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

1. The size of a man's hand? But is this a trick? Was it really Elisha's servant or something?

2. It doesn't say how many there were, and it also doesn't say they arrived at the birth.

Dude, you really need to come to church a little more often - at least for the Christmas Cantatas. Every year, there's "3 kings" or wise men.

I think you want us to say "C" because the Bible doesn't say it was an apple. And yet, the Bible doesn't say that it was not an apple either.
