Re: What makes you mad?

I am very easy going but I have to pray when I know Americans are coming unless I know they love missions for on the field there will be lots of different things...
I may not really like something but I sure would not tell anyone...We are called to be soldiers of the cross...that was NOT a pretty sight...nor a good smell!

I loved that service last night...among a very poor people...it must have been 100 degrees...many came from a farm area...the bathroom had no water...so you can imagine...

Calvary was NOT a pretty sight...but we are saved today because of our LORD who took upon Himself the sins and shame of a fallen world...

I stood at a distance and watched two mulitudes of catholic people walking with candles, chanting prayers...remembering the Via Doloroso the other night...I wept...

Sis A,

You need to regularly remind us of these things. We are very spoiled in America.

I loved them so much...so much....I am no longer in that part of Brazil but I know many were saved when we worked there and I will be happy to see them one day in HIS presence.

I guess I encountered this attitude, growing up rather poor in America. It took me a long time to realize that we are all shaped by our environment. Some people are truly ignorant about conditions in other people's lives. I think education is the answer. If they are still arrogant after they are educated then it's an attitude problem.

Re: What makes you mad?

As to the question "What makes you mad" I would have to say running out of chocolate ice cream without realizing it really steams me.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: What makes you mad?

BTW, CC1, I know what REALLY makes you mad. Women who shoot their husbands in the back while they sleep and then they get 6 months. THAT makes you mad!!

Re: What makes you mad?

What makes me mad?

When I hear people speak about holiness and they are equating the word holiness to describe how a Pennycostal lady should dress and do her hair.

I hate it when people have stupid ideas and blame it on God or the bible.
