Obama is doing a great job. The economy is George W.'s doing. He wanted to go to war and cut taxes at the same time leaving a huge deficit. Also lack of regulation in the housing and financial derivatives market has led to this mess. It's w's recession.
Back in October there were a bunch of Obama supporters arguing in favor of BO. They either have disappeared (lurking) out of shame or they quit the forum altogether. Go back and read some of the threads during the elections. These guys were really sold out. Time will tell, but if things continue the way they are going, it looks like they were sold a bill of goods.
DB, I can only think of very few people who were Obama supporters. I really don't see most of them here at all anymore commenting on any thread. If they were still active on the forum, but just not posting here, you may have a point, but I just don't see it that way.

How is it President Bush recession?
Tell us when CRA was re enacted. Tell us why Fannie and freddie were NOt under Sarbanes-oxley act and tell me who was responsible for over looking that. Then tell us who why GDP and balanced budget issues really came up 2 years ago when congress became a republican minority.
By the way. The fed cutting interest rates earlier would have also cut the housing buubble. Do you know that Bush is not the chairman of the Fed?

I would focus on your statement that "Obama is doing a great job" and I will get back to that for a moment.
Let me agree with you somewhat. We were going in for a recession and that was under the Bush administration. I'll grant you that. There are elements where congress had more impact as the other posted illustrated which compounded it and the Bush administration was in power during this financial crisis....but they tried to reign in Freddie and Fannie. Most of that falls on Frankin and Dodd (not sure of spelling).
Back you your statement. While we cannot totally overlook what started in the Bush admin you also can't overlook the freefall of jobs, the dow, and other aspects that were in response to the inititives of Pres. Obama. His policies has hyper accelerated a downward spiral without even considering his ungodly policies regarding abortion and other such issues.
Top all of that off with just a total lack of ability to govern with things like his recent handling of the Head of State of England and other things of similar nature...
My question is how or in what way do you determine "he is doing a great job?"
As I said, Obama is a neophyte, he is being jerked every which way by the powers that swirl around DC. He is enacting his leftist agenda everyday to payoff the wackos that paid for the brainwashing of the mush brained Americans thru the corrupt media.
No I did not vote for him, nor would I even consider vote for him or any of the Pelois, Reid, or Durbin types. And throw Barney and Chris in the batch as well.

wHAT DO you think about Obama revolking the human stem cells that banned using US tax money for research?
The thing is, there has never been a ban on the research. There has only been a restriction on the funding.
One thing they don't talk about are the failures and the hazards of embryonic research. They don't ever talk about the successful adult stem cell research. Adult stem cell is less costly, more accessible, less cancer causing risks and not ethically controversial.

Obama's quote: "But after much discussion, debate and reflection, the proper course has become clear. The majority of Americans, from across the political spectrum and from all backgrounds and beliefs, have come to a consensus that we should pursue this research -- that the potential it offers is great, and with proper guidelines and strict oversight, the perils can be avoided."
A "consensus" - LOL - always involves those that agree. Sounds like the same conclusions for Global Warming and intelligent design!
