Re: Before I Leave AFF
No scripture against it and if you feel the need to do so, I would.
I considered doing that once because I was only 13 when I got baptized and had only started going to church when I was 12. I didn't have a good grasp on what it meant only that it was needed.

If anything, this could be something you should hold on to for a couple of reasons. One, AFF can be a source of consistency. Two, there are people on here that are spiritual and can be an accountability partner from afar of sorts.
Three, the road you are traveling will be travelled by others in the future. Why not use AFF as a way to "mark the trail" so to speak. Someone may be encouraged by your courage and tenacity as you walk and fight for your life in Christ.
Four, I think we're both single males and we're about the same age and I don't want to be left on AFF by myself!!!
Five, as you evict the things of life that have become distractions to your walk with Christ, you will need to have something else there to fill those spots. For example, since finding AFF, my use of the internet for porn has dropped remarkably. I have something else to do, with access to wholesome entertainment and good hearted people who are trying to make it to Heaven along with me.
But if you feel that leaving AFF will help bring that change in your life in Christ that you are thirsty for, then pursue the ALMIGHTY GOD that is pursuing you.
Oh and I have been baptized at least 3 times I can think of. Once as a really young boy, once as a teenager, once as way of witnessing to someone, but it was underhanded.

Re: Before I Leave AFF
My father was raised in church, but rebelled as a teenager, and didn't come back to the Lord until he was 39 years old. He was rebaptized, along with my brother who was baptized in Jesus' name for the first time.
I don't see anything wrong with it, if it helps your faith and walk with God.

Is it acceptable to be baptized again? I mean, for the sake of my conscience? To symbolize a new start?

Do it.

Re: Before I Leave AFF
I have decided not to go through with it at this moment. Baptism "eis" the forgiveness of sins is a once in a lifetime event. If rebaptism is to be a landmark event in my life signifying a new start in the right direction (the straight and narrow), repentance can just as well be a landmark event. "Metanoia" is to have a change of mind and direction, to walk toward God, per Berkeley's expository blah blah blah.
I'd like to take this moment to thank you all for your replies. I appreciate the love and concern. I'm almost a complete mess. Help me pray through my anxiety. I Apologize for my transparency.

Your transparency is welcome here.
AFF can be a great sounding board!

Who cares what people think...what you think/feel is most important. There is no scriptures either way. As for myself. I chose rebaptism a couple years ago. A decision in my adult mind after I understood the concept of sin and of grace. I feel better about it and don't care what anyone thinks about it.
Blessings, Rhoni

No apology needed. It is great to be real isn't it? Letting down the facade is only uncomfortable to those who don't feel the liberty to do so.
