I'll be hanging on to that one.
Thanks for sharing it.

Re: The Counsel of the Elders

Bro. DeaconBlue,

I have pondered the story of David, Solomon, and Reheboam many times.
Makes me think of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

I believe there is blessing in one choice and cursing in the other. The
commandment with promise, out of the ten is "Honor thy father and thy
mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy
God giveth thee," Exodus 20:12.

The disrespect for parents, grandparents, other elders is a giant problem
today which will no doubt bring judgment upon those who refuse to obey
God's Word regarding this subject.

I found an interesting article from 1903: Click on page to go to next page.

Excellent article! I had to download the whole book (600+ pgs) to get the article! Well worth it, though!

Re: The Counsel of the Elders

Please don't let this good thread die as this subject is SO important. It may
not be the most controversial subject but I assure you, of the uttmost importance.

Bro. DeaconBlue has written an outstanding article on the subject and I for one
would like to see it stay on the front page a good while.

Just my honest opinion!
