Yeah, fresh roasted chilies and tomatoes are great - but it rarely happens for me.

However, I love to use steak instead of hamburger, add refried beans to the regular kidney beans, lots of onion and sauteed mushroom, garlic, cummin, pepper, salt and about 5 times the chili powder any recipe ever called for!

wow....that's not the way we Northeners make chili.

I love chili but I suspect most of you would think it bland!

(The joke among family is that you never see a Finnish restaurant! )

THIS northerner never ever makes bland chili!

Must just depend on the cook
