I agree. We have classes on Wednesdays called "School of the Bible" for different ages, and then everyone comes together on Sunday morning for regular service.
I wouldn't like it if my children were never in the main service. They have one class a week that is in the age-appropriate format, and then we worship together as a family once a week. I like them having to sit quietly and listen to a sermon. My oldest (Hannah) has recently started taking notes, which they're allowed to do as long as they don't draw or start writing notes to each other. It's good for them, IMO.
