I'm sure there are many in that church that this affects, so they are praying for them and their area.
I don't see a thing wrong with it. Wonder what would happen if all churches in America would pray for America and it's leadership!

I will tell you, when my husband was out of work years ago. The people of the local Nazarene church helped us out a lot. Our town has some very giving, loving people.

Even if to me it does seem extreme to me I can understand the motive.

Hey, my husband works in the aerospace/defense industry. Wonder if they could get a space shuttle, a tank, a helicopter, or a fighter plane in a church in Dallas?

The SUV's at the front of the church smacks of vanity.
Praying for the situation could have been accomplished without the SUV's.
It gives the appearance of a twisted form of idolatry.
The other night in church, as I gave my offering, I prayed for God to bless me with a million dollars.
I was sincere.
I would do a lot of good with that blessing.
But somehow, I think my focus may have been off. If indeed I had a "special audience with the Lord" at that moment because of my sacrificial giving, praying for the million bucks showed how desperately out of focus my heart is.
If God allows the bailout to happen, it won't be a sign of His BLESSING on SUV's or the car companies.
But for some, I can see how this would become indistinguishable, if the bail out goes through.
