Yeah? Did you know there's a tree farm there? We go every year.
No, I didn't know there was one. Where is it? I was in an antique store and bought a Henry Mancini sheet music (theme song from Romeo and Juliet) piece my mother used to have. I just called her to tell her about it.

It's a lot of fun. Take a hay ride to the field, pick out a tree, cut it down (they provide saws), hawl it back on another hay ride, and buy it. They shake them and wrap them in netting. Fresh cut trees! Sweet!

Not sure, but I think the prices are as good or better than the pre-cut lots, but I haven't priced those in a long time. E.g. a 7-footer is $42.
Oh, and they give you hot chocolate and candy canes! And they sell Elgin hot sausage wraps n stuff! Mmmmm. Hope it's a really cold day. That's the best tree cutting weather.
I think they have some live trees in pots, too. We're thinking of getting one this year, and planting it in the front yard.

Very cool! My husband won't let me have a real tree.
the thought of you with a saw makes me shudder too!

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter

We used to drive to San Antonio, when I was a child, to pick out a tree. We didn't go to a tree farm, but it was still fun. We had to have a 12 foot tree. My mother wanted it to be perfect. Not fun putting each icicle on one at a time, but when it was finished it was worth it.
She made the mountains with the villages and, of course, the cave for the nativity scene. My sisters and I would stand on the 12 foot ladder and sing. We took turns putting Baby Jesus in his crib and then burst into tears. Oh the drama!
