Friends, I think this is an occasion where those of us who preach truth need to take a visible stand on this issue. I understand our reluctance to draw fire on our churches and congregations, however, if we stand back and do nothing evil and wick men prevail.
In any state in the US, if a group of "straight" protesters did something like this in a "gay" establishment of any kind, it would be considered a hate crime. I say that we get as much facts as we can about this case, and then begin a letter writing campaign requesting a full investigation and prosecution of those offenders under the same "hate crime" statutes that they have used to target others with.
If we do not take action, IMHO, we may be the next ones to suffer.

Can you imagine if they would have done this in a mosque?
Then again, they'd know better. I think if they did that in a mosque they might not get out alive.

If the facts of this case are able to be substantiated, this circumstance is the kind of thing where what was intended for evil...produces good.
This has the basic ingredients to get crime against a Christian church into the category of a HATE crime. If a legal advocacy group persued this with that intended goal, we should all consider what amount of money we would contribute to the legal process costs.
These precedent-setting matters need a tangible flash point among the vast majority of apathetic middle ground folks...maybe this has all the necessary ingredients.
