Pres. Bush's response was measured in this case. I think Sen. Obama wold continue that style of diplomacy and leadership.

Why don't you check out Cook County/Hale DeMar and find out about Obama's stance on handguns.
In February 2004, the Cook County prosecutors dropped all charges against DeMar because of public outcry throughout the state.
The Senate passed SB 2165, a law introduced, because of the DeMar case, with provisions designed to assert a right of citizens to protect themselves against home invasions.
The measure passed the Illinois Senate by a vote of 38-20 - OBAMA being one of the twenty senators voting against the measure!!!!
After passing the Illinois House by an overwhelming majority of 86-25, the measure goes back to Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who vetoed it!!!
The Illinois Senate voted 40-18 to override the veto - OBAMA acted against the bill and voted with the 18 who wanted so sustain the governor's veto.
SO, if you want to vote for a Communist - go right ahead 1399. At least Palin will allow us to keep our handguns, semi-automatics, etc.

What do you say?

I've been meaning to get up with you and your wife again anyway for the sake of fellowship with real Christians.
Let's make it sooner on the lunch deal, as my work schedule will be changing soon.
If Sen Biden "wins" the debate, lunch is on me.
If Gov. Palin "wins" the debate, lunch is on me. How does that sound?

This is an area of weakness for him-- he needs to understand that policies that may sound good for the inner cities are not good for the neighborhoods countrywide.
Besides, inner city or not, every American has the right to bear arms.
He is trying to address the inner city issues from the side, instead of head on. I disagree with his politics here.
But, at great peril I ask this, what purpose does the avg American have for a semi-automatic weapon or an automatic weapon?

Not sure sure we are going to agree on who wins the debate, also we are on the Daniel fast right now so we are not eating out. If you want to get together though let us know we can still get together it might not be apostolic since I may be chewing on Spinach leaves but that's cool.
How about this for the election lunch winner picks the place we eat? If you pick Morton's You will have to go as my date so I can use the 2 for $99 deal.

C'mon now stop and think. I have grew up shooting a semi-auto .22 I have a 30 -.06 that is semi auto. These are not the guns that are used in crimes. labeling a gun as "bad" because it is semi auto is silly.

Guess you only learn that at those Ivy league schools. Maybe he doesn't know the difference between red numbers and black numbers.

My mouth was hanging open when Obama addressed foreign policy. For one thing, he isn't worried about Iran, but he alluded to holding Russia accountable for their actions against Georgia? LOL!!!!
He does NOT understand that sitting at a table with someone is par and course with endorsing their policies. (By calling them friend) That is obvious even in his own personal dealings. And he doesn't understand how alliances are supposed to work, and who protects whom and why, according to treaties and contracts. He really showed no comprehension at all of foreign policy.
I really don't think McCain made as many good points as he could have in the rest of the debate, but on foreign policy, he clearly showed Obama up.

Abigail,
When I watched the debate again on You Tube, I really saw McCain come out ahead. Listen to the last part again and see how Obama is always dissing America and McCain is always proud.
The clip is 11 of 11.

I believe Sen. McCain is not reckless, but I don't believe Pees. Bush was reckless either with sending us into Iraq-- I do believe it was the wrong decision.
If Sen McCain was President now, there would be U.S. troops in Georgia doing more than training and humanitarian missions. He would have escalated, militarily, a situation that is being handled with measured diplomacy.
