I watched the interview, and thought she looked like a little lost school girl. Which is sad considering that Charles Gibson is one of the kindest, and most balanced, journalists in the mainstream media.
I like Palin, I will vote for her ticket, but she worries me. I have a feeling that she is going to embarrass all of us between now and November.
She totally gaffed at the Bush doctrine question, and Gibson was kind enough to help her out.
She totally lied about her appearance at the Wasilla AOG.
She definitely believes it was "God's will" that we invaded Iraq. Why did she back away from that statement tonight? This constant back-pedaling away from her Pentecostal roots is troubling to say the least.
People generally get what they ask for. She said if Russia attacks any NATO country the USA should go to war with Russia. May God have mercy on the USA if this woman is elected.

I agree. I didn't think it was a good interview. First of all, she seemed "on edge", instead of being relaxed. It seemed like she was nearly gritting her teeth while answering questions.
Secondly, she should have owned her sentiments regarding God's will, instead of trying to water it down to suit a liberal media.
As for the "Bush Doctrine"...I have to confess, I don't have a clue what it is. (Or didn't, before I read this thread.) However, being in the political arena, she should have been better prepared for the question.
I thought she came off as defensive and tense, rather than confident. Hopefully "Nightline" will be better, and perhaps in the entirety of the interview, she will come off in a more attractive light.

I came away from the interview convinced more than ever she would be a part of a 3rd Bush term. She put us on war footing with Iran, Pakistan, and Russia by my count. She speaks with that same kind of cowboy bravado that Bush had before he learned his lessons.
She made the Obama campaign's argument very well tonight.

I am also very, very tired of her trotting out the fact that her kid is going off to war as some sort of personal trophy. This type of "vicarious" patriotism is sickening, and borders on child abuse.

I think the other parts of the interview will be better. Her lack of any foreign policy experience was the big knock against her and it showed.
I expect her to do a lot better on domestic issues. Especially, on the base issues of abortion, gay marriage, etc.
I agree that she should drop the tense, confrontational tone and appearance. She's trying to portray some sense of confidence, but it doesn't work. It didn't seem comfortable at all.

Isn't this her first prime time interview? That might explain the lack of smoothness. She's been a target by the liberal media all week perhaps she was just used to being on the defense.
Haven't seen it yet, because I am on the left coast.
I think it is understandable that she was somewhat nervous and on edge. She has had a very steep learning curve and this was her first big time interview. I have often wondered where the candidates find the time to be coached on policies and possible questions and answers. I think that she lacks some experience, but I would much prefer her to Hillary Clinton, who has loads of experience, but lacks management skills as evidenced by her campaign loss.
I am also very, very tired of her trotting out the fact that her kid is going off to war as some sort of personal trophy. This type of "vicarious" patriotism is sickening, and borders on child abuse.
Huh?????
