Re: Ladies Christmas Banquet Ideas.....
I enjoy more fun n games style ladies get togethers!
Ah Christmas......let the Christmas music begin!!!! hehe
One idea.......Have everyone bring a gift.....10 buck range maybe......pick one category...purses, crystal, kitchen item, candle, etc......then play Dirty Santa! (it's fun to watch grown women fight!!!) LOL
As far as the meal....how bout, choose a dinner menu and let everyone bring dishes that have been decided on prior to the banquet.
Let us know what you decide!

Re: Ladies Christmas Banquet Ideas.....
Somthing that has worked well in the past for us is to have the ladies bring their own china and decorations. Have a contest as to who has the pretty table. You will be amazed at how creative folks can get. This would also be a good time to invite guest and have each lady take a table and fill it up.
The hard part will be judging who has the prettiest or most creative table.
Some even brought their own table cloths even though we provided white tablecloths for them.
I know you will have a great time.

Very true. Plus you want believe the creativity that comes out.
One group had the nativity scene as their centerpiece. It was really quite lovely.
Lots of color from the variety of different china/stoneware.

We've done this as well and it was lots of fun! Speaking of "creative": One of our ladies used a red paper tablecloth with green paper plates, green plastic forks and knives and paper cups with Christmas Trees on them. I forgot her centerpiece, but, was equally as "low maintenance". Anyway, when time came for voting she was asked the THEME of her table. Her answer "A working woman's Christmas table"! LOL We all got a BIG laugh out of it. BUT, we weren't laughing when she folded up her "china" and threw it in the garbage and we (well "I") was still handwashing the goldware! LOL

We have a Christmas Tea every year and decorate this way. You have to sign up months ahead in order to get a table. But then it is your job to decorate that table and to fill it with as many visitors as you can. Then we sign up to bring tea sandwiches and special cookies. And everyone brings their prettiest teapots. And we all look for special teas that we can donate all year long. I have a website where you can get the BEST teas. Let me see if I can find it for you.
You should see the elaborate decorations people come up with!! We've had snowmen, candycanes, nativities, gold, silver, blue and silver, poinsettias, Christmas balls, Hershey kisses and all kinds of other things for table themes. It's so much fun because every table is different. We don't give prizes for best decorated. It would be way too hard to choose!
At the same time that we have our tea, in a separate room, we run a Christmas Craft Sale. The money we raise from that goes to missions.
And of course we get a special speaker and special music.
One year we had a person come in and played Christmas dinner music on the piano the whole time we were eating. She was sooooooooo good!!!
